Most non-towered GA airports have no verified operations counts — master plan forecasts get built on TAF placeholders and windshield estimates, and FAA reviewers know it. MotionInfo Aero replaces estimates with continuously measured, aircraft-level operations data collected on your field, formatted for the exact tables your planning consultant needs.
FAA design standards, justifications for runway and taxiway projects, and NPIAS/AIP grant eligibility all trace back to two numbers: how many operations the airport really handles, and which aircraft conduct them. A critical aircraft determination needs documented evidence of 500 annual regular-use operations (local + itinerant, excluding touch-and-go) by the most demanding aircraft — or grouping of aircraft with similar design characteristics — that uses the airport (AC 150/5000-17). An ADS-B-derived count is verifiable, timestamped, aircraft-specific evidence — a defensible baseline that strengthens forecast chapters and grant justifications at exactly the point FAA reviewers push back.
| Master plan element | What Aero Ops 360 provides |
|---|---|
| Aviation activity forecasts | Multi-year annual and monthly operations history (collection since 2018 at the earliest sites), fleet mix by aircraft type, estimated local/itinerant splits — a measured baseline for forecast chapters instead of a TAF pass-through. |
| Critical aircraft determination | The Critical Aircraft report lists regular-use operations (excluding touch-and-go) by aircraft type and by ARC group, flags each meeting the 500 regular-use threshold, computes the composite critical / design ARC, and exports to CSV and PDF for direct attachment to the determination memo. |
| Demand/capacity & facility requirements | Peak month, average day of the peak month, and design-hour operations computed from timestamped data — the peaking inputs demand/capacity analyses actually require. |
| Runway design standards (ARC) | Operations distribution across Aircraft Approach Category and Airplane Design Group (AAC/ADG), by year, from observed aircraft — evidence for the applicable design standard. |
| Noise & Part 150 studies | Noise-study export with operations by aircraft type, runway utilization percentages, and day/night (10pm–7am) splits — the fleet-mix inputs for noise exposure map modeling — plus a noise complaint intake form and complaint-to-operations correlation. |
| Environmental review support | Fleet mix, engine types, and operations volumes suitable for emissions inventories and categorical exclusion documentation. |
| Pavement management (AC 150/5380-7B) | Annual traffic by runway, aircraft type, and weight class with MTOW/MGLW statistics, formatted for import into PAVER / FAA PAVEAIR pavement management programs. |
Non-equipped aircraft, FAA privacy programs (PIA), UAT reception, and runway-attribution rates are documented on our methodology page and disclosed inside every export — so your consultant can cite the data without caveating around it.
Every counted operation is a real, timestamped aircraft movement. Counts can understate activity (non-equipped aircraft) but not overstate it — the conservative direction for FAA review.
Exports carry generation dates and can be regenerated for any calendar year. We will walk your consultant or FAA district office through the methodology directly.
If a MotionInfo receiver is already on your field, this data is one subscription away. If not, installation is straightforward — and the earlier a receiver goes in, the longer the verified baseline your plan can cite.
